Hi Love,

As of this writing, I've read 35 books so far this year! Last year, 2020, I read a total of 50 books, a great record, that'll probably be surpassed this year. My not-so-secret-secret is audiobooks! They've been a game changer for me! My close friends would tell you that I'm more of a lover of books, as in buying books, than I am an actual reader. Social media has shown be that I'm not alone in that camp. You might be there with me. So many of us love reading, but just don't have the time! It sucks. And for some, even when we got more time than expected (1st season of the pandemic, anybody?) we still kinda struggled. I surely did. And it was in that season I found what worked very well for me: reading non-fiction via audiobooks. And the genre that I surprisingly loved was memoirs!

I previously read a few memoirs here and there, but I generally thought of the genre as a "who are you and why should I care about your life" kinda way. To be fair, I still have a bit of that sentiment. But through listening to people read their own stories I've learned to see my own life for the journey it is. And there's nothing quite like hearing someone tell you their story than reading it, even if it's their own words. So in this post, I'm sharing my 5 favorite memoirs to listen on audio. And life hack, your local library probably has it via the app Overdrive for FREE.99.
